Hi Ryan, u were so brave to do this. As a Chinese Indonesian myself, I understand what u r going through and I do hope for the best for u n ur fiance.

I had a similar situation as u where my parents would prefer I work in the bank industry rather than the cinemas. However, after they saw how passionate I was in my job, they slowly accepted the career path I'm taking for the film world.

Perhaps the move u did was quite bold but maybe it cud change his mind one day the way my parents did. And I pray for u that it wud, cuz I still believe the culture of respecting parents (so long if there's a boundary), if u both cud find a common ground, that'll be even better.
